Stop the Clock sonically expresses the artist's experience of nature in the Mexican Caribbean, her home during 2021-2022.

Each of the 10 original pieces were born as improvised "sound poems" inspired by the whims of nature. Musical influences range from classical, choral and folk to jazz and electronic. During live performance, Stop the Clock is illuminated by video projections of original footage from the nature which had inspired the artist.

A background note from Becky:

"On a humid, heavy day, the skies opened up and poured out a deluge of water. Barricaded in the house by the rain, the freshness touched my imagination and I began to play.

It became a rhythm of noticing nature, letting it catch me, sensing a “sound-feeling” and improvising until a piece took form. I gathered ten piano pieces in this cycle, which I have called “Piano Sketches.” This title reflects the improvisatory manner by which they took shape: an idea expanding and slowly refining, as a pencil taken to paper for an impromptu sketch."

Original sketches were recorded in 2021, being transcribed and revised through until 2023.
